Features of saddle leather Niagara half-back dyed :

The saddle leather Niagara is a 100% natural leather. It is a full grain leather, not pressed, not corrected, with smooth dyed grain and flesh. It is a vegetable tanned leather and therefore a non-allergenic leather. The vegetable tannins give firmness and a strong resistance to elongation. This leather has an aniline finish which preserves the natural appearance of the leather. The half-back Niagara is available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria aniline finishes. It is fed in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as "tallow leather". This food makes it easier to cut and work, as well as being more resistant to water. The tallow makes it possible to have a leather without maintenance because the fat is given in a constant way on the surface of the leather, giving it the necessary food and a patina of excellence. Thanks to this nourishment, the saddle leather Niagara has an advanced resistance in outdoor use, it will reject any external disturbance (water / salty environment). This saddle leather is therefore suitable for intensive wear and tear as well as for the equestrian sector.

Origins of Niagara dyed half back:

Niagara half-backs come from selected beef and bull farms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather used in production, a leather traceability process has been set up at Radermecker Tannery. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Uses of half-back Niagara dyed:

The saddle leather Niagara in dyed half-back can be used for harness parts such as halters, snaffles, harnesses, bridle reins, headpieces, uprights, nosebands, lanyards, throat lashes and girths.
It can also be used in leather goods, especially when you need long lengths of leather: belts, wallets, card holders, key rings, bags, saddlebags, pouches, bracelets, watch straps, under-hands, knife sheaths, dog and cat collars, etc.
It can also be used for furniture: making or restoring the seat of a chair or armchair in thick, rigid leather, covering the work surface of an office, covering the doors of a dressing room.
The edges of saddle leather Niagara can be finished with our edges paint available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria.
Leather molding work can be carried out with saddle leather Niagara, as can leather marking work (hot and cold).
Embossing work on our saddle leather Niagara is not recommended, as with its feeding in a grease bath, the leather will regain its natural thickness, and the embossed patterns will fade over time. For leather embossing work, we recommend our saddle leather Pykara natural in shoulderhalf shoulder, quarter of shoulder and shoulder strap.

Dimensions and hide area of saddle leather Niagara half-back dyed:

  • From 1.81 to 2.00m² with a length greater than 200cm and a width greater than 60cm

Care instructions for saddle leather Niagara half-back dyed:

For the maintenance of Niagara saddle leather: Thanks to the feeding in tallow bath, the fat is impregnated on the whole thickness of Niagara saddle leather, so there is no need for feeding over time. Food can be applied to the grain to ensure its fatty appearance or to accelerate the patina of the leather. This care of the grain ensures a longer life for the leather. Our Niagara saddle leather will resist moisture. Just let them dry at room temperature and they will regain their appearance. Due to its nourishment in a tallow bath (grease), on temperature shocks, a whitish film of paraffin rise can form. Simply rub it off.
