What is "beige" natural leather?

A natural beige leather is therefore a vegetable tanned leather with no finish or dye. Its natural beige colour comes from the vegetable tannins used. Not to be confused with natural undyed leathers with a white or whitish colour from synthetic tannins containing bisphenol or a blue or bluish colour from chrome or mineral tannins.

Natural Niagara saddle leather or natural Pykara saddle leather, which one to choose?

The difference between natural Niagara saddle leather and natural Pykara saddle leather is in the feeding of the leather.
  • The natural Niagara saddle leather is nourished in a fat bathThis makes it easier to cut and work, as well as more resistant to water. This feeding also allows for a maintenance-free leather since the grease is given in a constant way on the surface of the leather. Suiffed leather is particularly resistant to the outdoor environment and to intensive use.
  • Pykara leather is nourished in emulsion. This is a liquid oil feed that is added to our fullers. This feed is suitable for leatherwork or leather goods requiring a high finish without fat.
  • Dyeing, moulding and marking are possible on Niagara and Pykara natural leathers, but embossing work is only possible on Pykara natural leather. If the embossing is done on Niagara natural leather, the leather is full of grease and the patterns will fade over time as the leather regains its natural thickness.
