Frequently Asked Questions from your Leather Saddle Specialist Tannery
+ What is a saddle leather?
A special feature of saddle leather is that it can be easily nourished over a period of time. Thus, its behaviour remains unaltered regardless of its environment. Its grain is not covered, allowing it to breathe and be nourished at the same time.
Activities that require leather to be worn, to be used in an outdoor environment and to have an appearance that does not fade over time require the use of saddle leather.
The saddle leather will give the eye a natural, open grain look, enhancing the wrinkles of the skin, the healed claws and other roughnesses inherent in the animal's life.
Pure aniline leather will not cover the grain. A semi-aniline leather will cover it slightly. Find more details in our blog article "Leather finishing".
