Features of Flaps leather Gavarnie :

Gavarnie saddle leather is the leather for horse saddle flaps. Flaps leather Gavarnie is an uncorrected full-grain leather, grained with Pécari grain or ungrained with smooth grain. This leather has a semi-aniline finish. This finish is achieved by applying a combination of an aniline layer and a pigmented layer, lightly covering the hide. As a result, colors are more uniform, hide roughness is slightly veiled, and the leather is more resistant to soiling. Flaps leather Gavarnie is available in black and chocolate. It is vegetable-tanned and therefore non-allergenic. Vegetable tannins give it firmness and high resistance to elongation. It has a through color and smooth, tinted flesh. Gavarnie full grain leather is nourished with emulsion oil. This is a liquid oil feed added to our fulling drums. The leather is nourished by the oil. This leather offers both suppleness to accompany the movements of the saddle quarter and firmness to return flat and smooth after multiple folds.

Origin of Flaps leather Gavarnie :

Flaps leather Gavarnie comes fromselected beef and bullfarms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather used in its production, Radermecker Tannery has set up a leather traceability process. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Dimensions and hide area of Flaps leather Gavarnie :

Flaps leather Gavarnie is a half-butt. The butt is one of the thickest and firmest areas of hide. The flanks, shoulder and all extremities have been removed. The butt is considered the noblest part of the leather. This area has no primer and can therefore be cut in any direction. We guarantee the Gavarnie leather flaps to have a leather surface area of 0.90 to 1.10m², with a length of over 120cm and a width of over 60cm. In the "Guaranteed dimensions" tab above, you'll find an explanatory diagram of the "quarter" hide area and the corresponding guaranteed dimensions.

Care instructions of Flaps leather Gavarnie :

Tocare for your leathers, we advise you to: pay particular attention to exposure to light, which can alter the color of your leathers; always dust your leathers with a dry cloth before applying a specific treatment. If your leather comes into contact with water, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature, without any additional heat source.
To care for Flaps leather Gavarnie: The grain can be fed to ensure its greasy appearance or to accelerate the leather's patina. This care of the grain ensures a longer life.
