Features of saddle of Niagara natural half-back strip: :

The saddle leather Niagara is a 100% natural leather. The Niagara leather  half-back strip natural is an unpressed, uncorrected full grain leather with smooth grain and flesh. It is a vegetable tanned leather and therefore a non-allergenic leather. The vegetable tannins give firmness and a strong resistance to elongation. It is fed in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as "tallow leather". This feeding in a fat bath makes it easier to cut and work with and provides greater resistance to water. The tallow makes it possible to have a leather without maintenance because the fat is given in a constant way on the surface of the leather, giving it the necessary food and a patina of excellence. Thanks to this nourishment, the saddle leather Niagara has an advanced resistance in outdoor use, it will reject any external disturbance (water / salty environment). This saddle leather is therefore suitable for intensive wear and tear as well as for the equestrian sector.

Origin of Niagara natural half back leather strips :

Niagara half-backs come fromselected beef and bullfarms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather used in production, a leather traceability process has been set up at Radermecker Tannery. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Uses of Niagara natural half back leather strips :

The Niagara Natural Half-Back Leather Strip can be used for harnessing parts such as halters, snaffles, harnesses, bridle reins, headpieces, headpieces, nosebands, Straps, undergirts, and girths.
It can also be used in leather goods, especially when you need long lengths of leather: belts, wallets, card holders, key rings, bags, purses, pouches, bracelets, watch straps, coasters, knife cases, dog and cat collars, etc.
It can also be used in furnishings, such as for making or restoring the seat of a chair or armchair in thick, rigid leather, for covering the work surface of an office or even for covering the doors of a dressing room.
As it has no dye, the Niagara Natural half back strip can be dyed, including our aniline dyes available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria.
The Niagara saddle leather can be finished with our edges paint available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria.
Leather moulding work can be carried out on Niagara saddle leather, as well as leather marking work (hot and cold).
Embossing work on our Niagara leather is not recommended, as the leather will regain its natural thickness when fed in a grease bath, and the embossed patterns will fade over time. For leather embossing work, we recommend our natural Pykara saddle leather in shoulderhalf shoulder, quarter of shoulder and shoulder strap.

Dimensions and hide area of Niagara naturel half back leather strip ::

On Niagara naturel half back leather strip, we offer 2 minimum lengths of 180cm and 200cm and a minimum width of 30cm. Care instructions of Niagara natural half back leather strips :

For the maintenance of Niagara saddle leather: thanks to the feeding in tallow bath, the fat is impregnated on the whole thickness of the Niagara saddle leather, so there is no need for feeding over time. Food can be applied to the grain to ensure its fatty appearance or to accelerate the patina of the leather. This care of the grain ensures a longer life for the leather. Our Niagara saddle leather will resist moisture. Just let them dry at room temperature and they will regain their appearance. Due to its nourishment in a tallow bath (grease), on temperature shocks, a whitish film of paraffin rise can form. Simply rub it off.
