Features of Boyoma half-back dyed saddle leather :

Boyoma saddle leather combines robustness and resistance. Dyed Boyoma half-back is a full grain unpressed, uncorrected, smooth grain and flesh. This leather is double-tanned: vegetable retanned with mineral. The mineral tannins provide softness and high resistance to breakage. This leather has an aniline finish which preserves the natural look of the leather. Dyed Boyoma half-back is available in Black and Chocolate aniline finishes. It is heart-nourished in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as "tallow leather". This fat-bath feeding makes for cutting and working easier, as well as giving it greater resistance to water. Tallow provides maintenance-free leather, as the grease is constantly rising to the surface of the leather, giving it the nourishment it needs and an excellent patina. Thanks to this nourishment, Boyoma saddle leather is highly resistant to outdoor use, rejecting any external disturbance (water / salty environment). This makes Boyoma saddle leather ideal for intensive wear and tear, as for the equestrian sector.
Boyoma half-back dyed saddle leather thickness: 4/4.5mm

Origin and traceability of dyed Boyoma half-backs:

The dyed Boyoma half backs are sourced from selected  Beef and bullfarms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather used in its production, Radermecker Tannery has implemented a leather traceability process  troughout the entire leather production process. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Uses of Dyed Boyoma half-back:

The dyed Boyoma half-back can be used for harness parts such as halters, snaffles, harnesses, bridle reins, headpieces, uprights, browbands, nosebands, lanyards, throat straps and girths.
The edges of Boyoma saddle leather can be finished with our edge paints for saddle leathers, available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria.
Boyoma saddle leather is not suitable for leather molding or leather marking.

Dimensions and hide area of dyed Boyoma half-back :

The half-back is composed of shoulder and butt, i.e. a half-hide with the sides removed. Its advantage is that it can be used for very long lengths, as in saddlery. We offer 2 sizes:

  • From 1.60 to 1.80m² with a length greater than 180cm and a width greater than 60cm
  • From 1.81 to 2.00m² with a length greater than 200cm and a width greater than 60cm

In the "Guaranteed dimensions" tab above, you'll find an explanatory diagram of the "half-back" and the corresponding guaranteed dimensions.

Care instructions of dyed Boyoma half-back :

Taking care of saddle leather Boyoma, this leather is suitable for anyone who doesn't take the time to maintain their leather. It can live without maintenance, you could also feedthe leather with a dust film. Thanks to suet bath feeding, the fat is impregnated throughout the entire thickness of Boyoma saddle leather, so there's no need to feed over time. Food can be applied to the grain to ensure its greasy appearance or to accelerate the leather's patina. This care of the grain ensures a longer life. Our Boyoma saddle leather will resist humidity. Simply leave to dry at room temperature to regain its appearance. Because it is fed in a tallow bath (grease), a whitish film of parraffin can form on temperature shocks. Simply rub it off.
