Features of saddle leather Niagara shoulder dyed:

The saddle leather Niagara is a 100% natural leather. It is a full grain leather, not pressed, not corrected, with a smooth grain and flesh. It is a vegetable tanned leather and therefore a non-allergenic leather. The vegetable tannins make it possible to have a firm and resistant leather. This leather benefits from an aniline finish which preserves the natural appearance of the leather. The shoulder Niagara dyed leather is available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria aniline finishes. It is fed in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as "tallow leather". This food makes it easier to cut and work, as well as being more resistant to water. The tallow makes it possible to have a leather without maintenance because the fat is given in a constant way on the surface of the leather, giving it the necessary food and a patina of excellence. Thanks to this nourishment, the saddle leather Niagara has an advanced resistance in outdoor use, it will reject any external disturbance (water / salty environment). This saddle leather is therefore suitable for intensive wear.

Origin of shoulders Niagara dyed :

Dyed Niagara shoulders are sourced fromselected beef and bullfarms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather used in production, a leather traceability process has been set up at Radermecker Tannery. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Uses of shoulder Niagara dyed:

The shoulder Niagara dyed leather can be used for all leather goods, small leather goods and cutlery: belts, wallets, card holders, key rings, bags, purses, pouches, bracelets, watch straps, coasters, knife cases, dog and cat collars, etc. It is the most popular leather for belts because of its natural finish, resistance to elongation and long life.
It can also be used in furniture: making or restoring the seat of a chair or armchair in thick, rigid leather, covering the work surface of an office, covering the doors of a dressing room.
The finishing of the edges of the saddle leather Niagara can be done with our edges paint available in Black, Chocolate, Havana, Cognac and Victoria.
Moulding and marking (hot and cold) can be done with saddle leather Niagara.
Embossing on our Niagara leather is not recommended, as the leather will regain its natural thickness and the patterns will fade over time. For embossing, we recommend our saddle leather natural Pykara in shoulderhalf shoulder, quarter of shoulder and shoulder strap.

Dimensions and hide area of shoulder Niagara dyed:

The shoulder corresponds to the animal's neck and is often wrinkled due to the movements of the animal's head. This part is very much in use, as it can be lent in all directions. We offer 2 sizes:

  • From 1.20 to 1.35m² with a length greater than 75m and a width greater than 120cm.
  • From 1.36 to 1.50m² with a length greater than 75cm and a width greater than 140cm.

Please refer to the "Guaranteed dimensions" tab above for an explanatory diagram of the "shoulder" and the corresponding guaranteed dimensions.
If you require a leather length greater than 120cm, saddle leather Niagara is available in half-back in natural and dyed, ensuring a minimum leather length of 220cm.

Care instructions for shoulder Niagara dyed:

For the care of saddle leather Niagara, thanks to the tallow bath feed, the fat is impregnated throughout the thickness of the saddle leather Niagara, so there is no need to feed over time. Food can be applied to the grain to ensure its greasy appearance or to accelerate the patina of the leather. This care of the grain will ensure a longer life. Our saddle leather Niagara will resist humidity. Just let it dry at room temperature and it will look great again. Because it is fed in a tallow bath (grease), a whitish film of paraffin build-up can form on temperature shocks. Simply rub it off.
