Features of the Niagara half-back Acajou saddle leather :

Niagara saddle leather is 100% natural, full-grain, unpressed and uncorrected, with smooth grain and flesh. It is vegetable-tanned, and therefore non-allergenic. Vegetable tannins make the leather firm and resistant. It is heart-fed in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as " tallow leather". This nourishment makes the leather easier to cut and work, and gives it greater resistance to water. Tallow also ensures maintenance-free leather, as the fat is constantly added to the surface of the leather, giving it the nourishment it needs and an excellent patina. Thanks to this nourishment, Niagara saddle leather is highly resistant to outdoor use, rejecting any external disturbance (water / salty environment). This saddle leather is therefore suitable for intensive wear.

Origin and traceability of Niagara Mahogany half-backs :

Niagara Acajou half-backs come fromselected beef and bullfarms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather used in production, Radermecker Tannery has set up a leather traceability process. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process. Traceability covers supply, fulling, finishing and the associated quality test.

Applications for Niagara Mahogany half-backs :

Niagara mahogany half-backs can be used for leather goods, particularly when you need long lengths of leather: belts, wallets, card holders, key rings, bags, purses, pouches, wristbands, watch straps, under-hand, knife sheaths, dog and cat collars, and so on. It's the most popular leather for réalization belts, thanks to its natural finish, resistance to elongation and long-lasting nourishment.
It can also be used for furnishings: réalization or restoration of thick, rigid leather chair or armchair seats, office worktops, dressing room doors.
It can also be used for harness parts: halters, snaffles, harnesses, bridle reins, headpieces, uprights, browbands, nosebands, lanyards, throat lashes and girths.

Moulding and marking (hot and cold) can be carried out with Niagara saddle leather .

Dimensions and hide area of Niagara Mahogany half backsplashes :

Care instructions for Niagara half-back Acajou saddle leather :

Thanks to tallow bath feeding, the fat is impregnated throughout the entire thickness of the Niagara saddle leather , so there's no need to feed over time. Food can be applied to the grain to maintain its greasy appearance or accelerate the leather's patina. This care of the grain ensures a longer life. Our Niagara saddle leather is moisture-resistant. Simply leave to dry at room temperature to regain its appearance. Because it is fed in a tallow bath (grease), a whitish film of paraffin can form on temperature shocks. Simply rub it off.
