Hukou leather is the soft leather used for lining harness parts and making draft horse collars. Hukou half hide is saddle leatherfull-grainunpressed, uncorrected, exposed grain. This leather has aaniline finishwhich preserves the natural appearance of the leather. It has a through-tone and is enhanced by its velvet-tinted flesh. The leather isvegetable tanned. It is distinguished by a strong suppleness giving it a silky touch throughout its life. It will absorb food perfectly throughout its life. Wrinkles and grain are particularly pronounced on Hukou leather.

Origin of Hukou half hide :

Hukou half hides come fromtargeted beef or bullfarms originating in France, Germany, Spain or Italy. To guarantee the quality of the leather used in its production, Radermecker Tannery has set up a leather traceability process . The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Uses of Hukou half hide :

Hukou half hide is ideal for lining harness parts, such as bridle rein linings. It is also ideal for making draft horse collars.
Hukou saddle leather can also be used to make horse saddle seats and saddle cushions, as well as linings for horse saddle flaps.
Hukou saddle leather can also be used to make soft leather goods, such as bags, aprons, purses, etc., as well as saddlebags and saddlebags.

The half hide Hukou includes shoulder, butt and sides, and is cut lengthwise from shoulder to butt. We offer 2 sizes:

• From 1.50 to 1.75m² with a length greater than 150cm and a width greater than 75cm
• From 1.76 to 2.00m² with a length greater than 170cm and a width greater than 85cm

Care instructions of Hukou half hide :

For thecare of your leathers, we advise you to: pay particular attention to exposure to light, which can alter the color of your leathers; always dust your leathers with a dry cloth before applying a specific treatment. If your leather comes into contact with water, allow it to dry naturally, at room temperature, without any additional heat source.
To care for Hukou saddle leather:Feeding the grain will nourish the areas between the hide pores and the pores themselves. It's the same process as feeding your hands when the hide is dry. Our Hukou saddle leather is moisture-resistant, so simply let it dry at room temperature and it will look as good as new. Moistening Hukou leather gives it greater elasticity and longevity, and it will shrink during drying without altering the softness of the hand.
