Features of Niagara dyed half back leather strip :

Niagara saddle leather is 100% natural leather. It is an unpressed, uncorrected full-grain leather, with smooth grain and flesh. It is vegetable-tanned, and therefore non-allergenic. Vegetable tannins provide firmness and high resistance to elongation. This leather has an aniline finish that preserves its natural appearance. Dyed Niagara half-back strip is available in Black, Chocolate, Havana and Cognac aniline finishes. It is heart-fed in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as " tallow leather". This food makes for easier cutting and working, as well as greater resistance to water. Tallow also ensures maintenance-free leather, as the fat is constantly added to the surface of the leather, giving it the nourishment it needs and an excellent patina. Thanks to this nourishment, Niagara saddle leather is highly resistant to outdoor use, rejecting any external disturbance (water / salty environment). This saddle leather is therefore suitable for intensive wear.

Niagara dyed half back leather strips come fromselected beef and bullfarms in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. To ensure the quality of the leather linked to its production, a leather traceability process has been set up at Radermecker Tannery. The hides are marked 3 times with 3 identifiers at each stage: on receipt of the hides, enabling traceability of the origin of the hides; during the tanning process; during the finishing process.

Uses of Niagara dyed half back leather strip :

Niagara half-back dyed leather strip can be used in leather goods, particularly when you need long lengths of leather: belts, wallets, card holders, key rings, bags, purses, pouches, wristbands, watch straps, under-hand, knife sheaths, dog and cat collars, and so on. It's the most popular leather réalization belts, thanks to its natural finish, resistance to elongation and long-lasting nourishment.
Saddle leather can also be used for furnishings: for example, to réalization or restore the seat of a chair or armchair in thick, rigid leather, to cover the work surface of an office, or the doors of a dressing room.
Saddle leather can also be used for harnessing: halters, snaffles, harnesses, bridle reins, headpieces, uprights, nosebands, lanyards, throat straps, etc.
Slabs of Niagara saddle leather can be finished with our slab waxes available in Black, Chocolate, Havana and Cognac.
Moulding and branding (hot and cold) can be carried out on Niagara saddle leather .
Embossing on our Niagara leather is not recommended, as the leather will regain its natural thickness when fed in a grease bath, and the patterns will fade over time. For embossing, we recommend our natural Pykara saddle leather in shoulderhalf shoulder, quarter shoulder and shoulderstrap .

Dimensions and hide area of Niagara dyed half back leather strip :

The half-back is made up of shoulder and butt. It is therefore a half-hide from which the sides have been removed. Its advantage is that it can be used in very long lengths, as in saddlery. On Niagara dyed half back leather strip, we offer 2 minimum lengths of 180cm and 220cm and a minimum width of 30cm. For the care of the saddle leather Niagara, thanks to the feeding in suet bath, the fat is impregnated on the whole thickness of the leather, so there is no need for feeding over time. Food can be applied to the grain to ensure that it remains fat or to accelerate the patina of the leather. This care of the grain ensures a longer life for the leather. Our saddle leather Niagara will resist humidity. Simply leave it to dry at room temperature and it will regain its appearance. Because it is fed in a tallow bath, a whitish film of paraffin residue can form on temperature shocks. Simply rub it off.
