Leather In a Box
Locatedin Weert, Belgium, Mr Paul Beckers has set up his own leather goods company: Leather in a Box. His products are made entirely by hand, including sewing, and with sustainable materials: vegetable-tanned leather, stainless steel or copper accessories. The name of her company simply came from her concept of an online boutique with delivery of her items carefully packaged in a beautiful box: Leather in a Box.
"The bag is made from Niagara black shoulder. This material handles very well and is easy to work with. Once polished, the black color has a certain depth and shine. Often, I leave the edges in the natural color; this adds character to the bag in my opinion, but it's also a way of standing out, a matter of taste of course. When Niagara is combined with brushed stainless steel buckles or clasps, it gives what I would call a 'pure' and often timeless product."

L/SCRNR
Mr Thom LeScrainier, working under the name L/SCRNRMr. LeScrainier produces small and medium leather goods, upholstery, decoration and many other leather works. His specialty remains the saddle-stitch technique and his extensive knowledge of leather. He uses vegetable-tanned bovine leather. Respecting a few rules, notably divine proportion, his approach is to modernize shapes and renderings using traditional and technological techniques and tools. His aim is to create works that are singular, harmonious and timeless.
"All my work is hand-sewn in saddle stitch, so the choice of leather is essential, and Niagara gives me the greatest satisfaction. It's pleasant to cut and sew. Once the work is assembled, its life can begin, as the leather polishes and patinates, darkens and shines, and softens in places while retaining its initial shape. It's a pure delight to watch it evolve over time."
