Dirk Devreese

Newsleather Radermecker - Dirk Devreese

Based in Gent in Belgium, Mr Dirk Devreese  is said to be fascinated by crafts, "know-how from years of dedicated effort". With a career in the international industry, he decided to work with leather in a traditional way, "his contribution to the use of sustainable materials". Mr Dirk Devreese makes leather goods entirely handmade, repairs shoes in a traditional way.

"Due to its natural finish, the leather expose a life rich in itself. Nourished in oil bath, it becomes flexible and easy to work while maintaining its shape. Molded parts do not deform sustainably and without any reinforcement. The oils associated with Siegols'Carnauba finishing wax fill the cavities of the leather fibers and thus provide a perfect seal."

Cuir et Fil

Newsleather Radermecker - Cuir et Fil

Created in May 2017, by Mrs Pauline Chauvet, the craft saddlery Cuir et fil  is based in Ayré in France. The activity of Mrs Paulin Chauvet revolves around 3 main axes : the creation of equine and canine saddlery articles, the creation of leather goods, and the repair of leather goods. Her creations are made to measure with traditional methods.

"To achieve this bitless bridle, I used the Niagara leather in Victoria in half-back with a thickness of 3.5-4mm, a leather with a sublime color and a pleasant touch. Soft and firm at the same time, it is very pleasant to work."
Mrs Pauline Chauvet - Cuir et fil
