Full grain vegetable tanned leather

The shoulder PYKARA is a vegetable tanned saddle leather for leather goods. It will satisfy hot stamping, hammering, sewing and precise cutting. A very light natural leather, it offers a pleasant sensory experience, reflecting the nobility of leather.

For your embossing or moulding work, only the natural Pykara leather will suit you. The tinted Pykara leather (black, chocolate, havana & cognac), because of its pigmented finish, will be suitable for your "classic" leather goods (without embossing or moulding).

Testimony of Lucile Pruvel

hat in vegetable-tanned leather made by Lucile Pruvel

« I make vegetable leather hats and objects from Radermecker Tannery. I often choose the Niagara in havana for its warm shade and nourishment to the heart. When I wish to dye and emboss the object, it is the Pykara which is offered to me. "Kristin" is a hybrid hat, mixing pork pie and capeline, at the same time chic, unique, for special occasions and wearable by everyone. It participates in the Ateliers d'Art de France 2022 competition and will be present at the Fête des Métiers d'Art in Villedieu-les-Poëles (50). Created in full-grain Pykara leather for its entire structure, this hat also has an antistatic, silky and soft Venezia lining, a 100% cotton interior headband and Oeko-tex certified ecru stretch canvas. The pattern of the latter echoes that of the textured crown and its satin finish brings luminosity to the face it crowns. »

"The choice of honeysuckle and roses is a tribute to the gardens that my father created and which populated my childhood. They represent the simplicity of a common flower and the elegance of fragrant climbers. This hat has gone through multiple stages of creation, from pattern making to finishing, including hammering, embossing, dyeing, S-lacing, hand sewing in saddle stitch, edge work and brim shaping from capeline to bone glue. Finally, some flowers were made in cold porcelain, then dyed, embossed and varnished. Affixed to the S lacing of the crown, they complete the Kristin hat and give relief to the whole".
