Full grain leather stretched on frame

full grain leather Stretched Della for straps and stirrups

The saddle leather Stretched Della is the leather for stirrup and girths strap. Stretched Della leather is an full grain leather unpressed, uncorrected, smooth grain. It is a leather mineral tanning which is reworked in wet and positioned on frames. Under the effect of the tension, it minimizes its elasticity, its elongation and increases the absorption of direct efforts without altering its resistance in traction. This leather has an aniline finish which preserves the natural appearance of the leather. It is fed in a tallow bath (a mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly known as "leather tallow". This feeding in fat bath allows an ease of cutting and work as well as a resistance to water more important. The tallow also allows to have a leather without maintenance because the fat is given in a constant way on the surface of the leather, giving him the necessary food and a patina of excellence. Thanks to this nourishment, the saddle leather Della has an advanced resistance in outdoor use, it will reject any external disturbance (water / saline environment).

Testimony of Bourrellerie de Chloé

Bourrellerie de Chloé, harness maker

"From my installation, I worked with leathers from Radermecker Tannery, they perfectly matched what I was looking for: the leather is of very good quality, it is very pleasant to work with, they have a wide choice of saddle leathers with beautiful shades, and in  addition the tannery is not far from the workshop. The possibility of being able to go and get the leathers directly from the showroom is perfect. I am very well received there, I can scrutinize the leather from all angles in order to choose the one that will suit me, and the discussions and advice of Jean-Christophe are very interesting. Whether in the tannery or by mail, Radermecker team is always available and attentive.
At my installation, my first customer's request was to add a girth strap and my first big order was a Cossack saddle, the first leather I used was Stretched Della leather. Stretched Della  leather is the leather that by definition is the most suitable for these achievements. In fact, unlike other leathers, it is pre-stretched on frame, which will limit its elongationas much as possible. And it also benefits from a tanning and a finishing that gives it resistance to traction and to the external environment (water, etc.). It is a leather that is perfectly suited to the intensive use of wear and traction. It is therefore perfect for straps, saddle straps, the straps of a Cossack saddle (vaulting) and stirrup.
I appriciate working with this very good quality leather to make these items which require a solid leather, resistant to stretching, in order to guarantee the durability of the material and the safety of the riders, in relation to the use they do. It is a leather that is easy to cut and soft, which makes it very pleasant to work with. It's also nice to be able to offer 3 shades (black, brown and cognac) for making or repairing items with this leather."
