The advantages of pure aniline dyeing for natural leather
What is aniline leather dye?
As a leather craftsman working with natural leather, you want to add color to your saddlery or leather goods. aniline leather dyeing is an excellent way to personalize all your creations while preserving the natural look of the leather.
aniline dyes are produced in the Tannery on the basis of Radermecker saddle leathers : black, chocolate, havana, Victoria, Cognac, Acajou, Caramel, red passion, Vert Forêt and Bleu Nuit.
aniline dye is an alcohol-based organic solvent. This solvent base acts as a penetrant/thinner with colorants.
aniline stains are available in 250ml bottles.
On which leathers can aniline dyes be applied?
aniline dyes can be applied to all our natural vegetable-tanned and mineral-tanned saddle leathers .
How to use and apply our aniline leather dyes
Make sure your leather surface is as clean as possible.
The result depends on the technique used: aniline leather dye can be applied with a brush, wool applicator, airbrush, sponge or sprayer (for large surfaces).
Do I need to wet the leather before applying the dye? Applying the dye to unmoistened leather will help control its spread. But a dye will be more homogeneous on damp leather.
A second application of aniline leather dye can be applied to achieve a more even shade of leather.
aniline leather dyes can be diluted with these solvents (isopropyl alcohol and methyl proxitol), so that the dye is less concentrated, but remains the same if several applications are made. To obtain other shades, aniline leather dyes can be mixed with each other. It is not possible to mix aniline leather dyes with slice waxes for leather, as the polyurethane base and aqueous pigments will not mix with the solvent, and this may produce a precipitated molasses.
After dyeing with our aniline leather dyes, there's no need to apply a fixative, as the composition of the aniline dye ensures very good penetration of theaniline into the heart of the leather, acting as a fixative.
When working with leather edges, it is necessary to apply a coat of edge dye. To do this, discover our edge paint for leather available in black, chocolate, havana, Victoria, Cognac, Acajou, Caramel, red passion, Vert Forêt and Bleu Nuit.
