Dirk Devreese
Locatedin Ghent, Belgium, Mr Dirk Devresse says he's fascinated bycraftmanship, "a know-how born of years of dedicated effort". With a career in international industry, he decided to work with leather in the traditional way, "his contribution to the use of sustainable materials". Mr Dirk Devreese makes leather goods entirely by hand, and repairs shoes by hand.
"With its natural finish, this leather has a rich life of its own. Nourished in an oil bath, it becomes soft and easy to work with, while retaining its shape. Moulded parts do not deform permanently and without any reinforcement. The oils combined with Siegol's Carnauba finishing wax fill the cavities in the leather fibers, providing a perfect seal."
