La Charnaye

La Charnaye - Newsleather Radermecker

Locatedin Saint Martin sur Nohain, France, La Charnaye was created in October 2017 by Mme Sophie David. After graduating as a saddler/harness-maker in 2013, Mme Sophie David continued her training in the workshops of Hermès and Chanel. Returning after a stay in Casablanca, where she worked with leather in an owner's stable, she trained in equestrian ergonomics. With her listening skills and technical knowledge, Sophie David's sole aim is tomeet her customers' expectations, with the animal's well-being in mind. Inaddition to offering saddlery andharnessthe young craftswoman also makes leather goodshandbags, purses and wallets, adding her own personal touch and attaching great importance to the quality andoriginality of her raw materials and accessories.

"I've been using Niagara leather since I started training as a harness saddler in 2013. It seemed logical to me to continue using it because it's so pleasant to work with. RADERMECKER® succeeds in maintaining a natural look, beautiful color and a pleasant feel, all of which highlight this noble material. Many leathers sometimes look "plastic", too homogeneous, without history. RADERMECKER® leathers give the products we make an authentic look that helps to enhance the value of our craftsmanship".
