Ely'o Saddlery

Newsleather Radermecker - Ely'o Saddlery

Based in Châtel-Montage in France, Ely'o Saddlery is a craft saddlery whose main activity is the custom fabrication of equin material, but also leather jewels, leathercraft, and accessories for medieval suits. Ely'o Saddlery uses the Pykara leather especially for leather goods.

"What is pleasant at first sight is its color, a beautiful light color which takes very well the dyeing and which allows superb colors, even with very diluted dyes. I use the Pykara very regularly for embossing, it is a real pleasure. The openning of the leather is comfortable, easy, fluid. The knife to open does not catch, it slides easily. Under the mattresses, the Pykara is exemplary. It embosses easily, with a very beautiful depth "

Ottermann

Newsleather Radermecker - Ottermann

Mr Peter Otermans is a craftsman based in Hoensbroek, in the Netherlands. He makes leather goods, mainly belts, based upon a family heritage. It brings new life to this family craft by making all these leather items by hand. These achievements include the story of his hometown, Hoensbroek, in which his family lived and worked for over 300 years.

"I give to my belts, which are 3.5 - 4 mm thick, a though, stylish and solid appearance and the Pykara leather is perfect suitable for this purpose. It is not to stiff, easy to color and gives a great patina. The Pykara leather can easily be processed, a big advantage when you make, as I do, things by hand. I only make my leather goods from vegetable tanned leather so for me the Pykara is the most suitable option."
